About the role

Provide direct and indirect patient care support within a fast-paced orthopedic clinic, assisting physicians with surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities include managing cast applications, brace fittings, and coordinating surgery scheduling and authorizations.

The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a leading healthcare provider in Helena, MT to recruit a dedicated Medical Assistant for a busy Orthopedic Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where you'll provide exceptional patient care while supporting both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic services. Schedule Full-time, 5 days per week Weekend and/or holiday rotation may be required What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect patient care support in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic Assist physicians with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures Perform cast applications and removals, fracture care, dressing changes, brace fittings, and patient education Support inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care Apply and monitor mobilization and immobilization devices, including slings, braces, traction equipment, and continuous passive motion machines Coordinate surgery and procedure scheduling Ensure all required testing, authorizations, and resources are coordinated prior to procedures What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required Degree in Athletic Training or related healthcare field preferred Previous experience in a hospital, orthopedic, sports medicine, or physician office setting preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology Licensure & Certifications BLS certification required Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required within 6 months of hire Orthopedic certification required within 6 months of hire Additional Skills & Attributes Excellent gross and fine motor skills Cognitive, organizational & emotional maturity Non-judgmental, empathetic patient care Strong interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Compassionate, organized, flexible, team-oriented and open to feedback Maintain knowledge through ongoing education and training What You Can Expect

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED, with a degree in Athletic Training or a related field preferred. Candidates must obtain CMA and Orthopedic certifications within six months of hire and hold a current BLS certification.
