  • Summary: 11:00am - 11:30pm The Registered Nurse (RN) is the core of ProMedica’s world-class patient care team. By providing patient-centered care through sensitivity and respect for the diversity of human experience, ProMedica nurses are dedicated to improving health outcomes for our patients and for the communities we serve. As the coordinator of a patient’s plan of care, you will interact with the patient, families and the health care team through open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making. The RN will assess and formulate a nursing diagnosis, and plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan. In this position, you will work collaboratively with fellow nurses and support staff as you strive to achieve patient care goals. As a ProMedica RN, you will work to improve patient care, your work environment and patient and staff satisfaction. The above summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by the positions. It should not be considered exhaustive. ACCOUNTABILITIES Apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e.: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) as written in the departmental standards. Coordinates patients' plans of care through effective shift-to-shift communication. Utilizes appropriate techniques necessary to control / prevent infections. Employs critical thinking skills and sound judgment in all aspects of care. Initiates emergency care, as necessary. Addresses patient/family education needs considering patient level of comprehension, style of learning, and discharge needs. Follows proper chain of command when issues/problems arise and demonstrates appropriate follow-through. Displays professionalism at all times and maintains patient confidentiality. Demonstrates sound clinical skills and judgment. Ability to critique own daily practice for error and pursue corrective action.

Requirements

Current State license as a Registered Nurse Current CPR training. Specialty certifications as required by individual nursing units. The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules. Maintains BCLS and other certifications required by the job, i.e., ACLS.
