The X-Ray Technician/MA assists physicians in patient examination and treatment by preparing rooms and administering diagnostic tests. Responsibilities include measuring vital signs, performing EKGs, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Job Title: X-Ray Technician/MA
Reports to: Center Manager
The X-Ray Technician/MA will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician.

Major Responsibilities Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications Current limited X-Ray permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal- to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal) is required
CPT I certification
Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections.
Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet
Neat and professional appearance
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant
Working Conditions Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Travel – up to 5%
Candidates must hold a current limited X-Ray permit from the California Department of Public Health and a CPT I certification. A vocational certificate in Medical Assisting and experience with blood draws and IM injections are required.
