About the role

Coordinates the cleaning, maintenance, and high-level disinfection of endoscopy scopes and equipment to ensure a safe workflow for procedures. Acts as a liaison between nursing staff, vendors, and departments while assisting with the orientation of new staff.

Schedule

Full-Time: 40 Hours/Weekly

  • AM-4:30 PM with rotating Saturdays. Ability to fulfill Opening or Closing Shifts (0600-1430) or (0900-1730) as needed.

General Summary

Coordinates necessary resources and services vital in undertaking the cleaning and maintenance of endoscopy scopes and equipment vital for the specific workflow of each endoscopy procedure that day.

Processes supplies and equipment.

Maintains recommended standards and procedures for cleaning and high level disinfecting, inspection, and delivering of scopes throughout the duration of the day.

Collaborates with the Nursing Staff and Techs providing the best availability of specialty scopes/loaner scopes as regarded.

Will be a liaison between Nurse Manager/designee, with other equipment techs, vendors, reps, and departments regarding scope reprocessing.

Coordinates activities in GI Decontamination area to promote compliance with protocols and promote work efficiency.

Serves as a special resource participant in performing improvement initiatives, trouble shooting daily operational issues impeding workflow; and assist with the orientation new staff to cleaning and high level disinfection of endoscopy scopes and equipment.

Provides the best for the patient in consistent, safe scope cleaning and handling.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience as a certified Endoscopy Equipment Technician. Must hold CRCST, BLS, and either Certified Endoscope Reprocessor or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor certifications.
