Conducts comprehensive, developmentally and culturally appropriate patient assessments (infant through geriatric), identifying risks (falls, skin breakdown, infection) and developing individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team Deliver care that honors patients' religious, cultural, linguistic, and family preferences; coordinate interpreter and translation services and ensure compliance with EMTALA, COBRA, and Advance Directive policies Carry out nursing interventions and hospital protocols through hourly rounds, prioritize care across the healthcare team, and accurately document all patient records, including medication reconciliation and discharge planning Continuously evaluate patient progress and update individualized care plans each shift, closely monitoring patients receiving bedside procedures or post-operative care Provide tailored education on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions using approved materials and language patients can understand, ensuring smooth transitions of care Maintains 95%+ accuracy in chart documentation and care plan reviews, upholds hospital policies, and ensures zero valid complaints related to patient rights, privacy, or care coordination Job Requirements Required Completion of New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. or 1-3 years Minimum of one year experience in Critical Care, Step Down, Telemetry setting, Medical/Surgical, upon hire and Completion of Critical Care Course for RN without previous ICU experience, 12 - months Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 18 - months and Preferred Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, upon hire Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.

This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Requirements

Requires a California Registered Nurse license and certifications in BLS and ACLS. Candidates must have 1-3 years of experience in Critical Care, Step Down, Telemetry, or Medical/Surgical settings, or completion of a New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.
