DRG: PNS trail & perms

Via Disc: Other simple procedures

The Pain Management Physician is responsible for responding to medical and health problems presented by patients including but not limited to collecting historical medical information, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, preforming procedures, and providing referral opportunities as appropriate. In addition, this position is tasked with keeping informed of medical developments, drugs, treatments, and medications and promoting health education.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following

Conducting day-to-day responsibilities such as seeing patients and responding accordingly Analyzing records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient Prescribing or administering treatment, therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury Preform procedures on patients who are qualified for treatments Monitoring patients' condition and progress and re-evaluating treatments as necessary Maintaining strict patient confidentiality in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Referring patients to physicians and outside practices and hospitals in conjunction with patient diagnosis Meeting with and discussing the development of new pharmaceuticals with sales representatives Managing patient records using the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system Maintaining a portfolio of continuing professional development activities Potentially supervising a Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) Attend regular provider meetings with senior management

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree + Medical school Fellowship in Pain Management Board Certified Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment Good listening skills; strong verbal communication skills with a diverse range of individuals Must have the ability to work well under pressure and stay calm/focused on emergency situations Ability to think on feet Be highly self-motivated and results-driven individual Have the willingness to serve patients in a high-pressure environment Good bedside manner, be emotionally stable and have the ability to make decisions in emergency situations A desire for further education to keep up with ever changing medical advances Be comfortable working with computers

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, a medical degree, and a fellowship in Pain Management. Board certification is required along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.
