  • MSK: Join our team as a Medical Assistant and be a key member of the patient care team in the outpatient oncology setting! Work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
  • Role overview: Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and safety, while helping to maintain par levels of medical supplies Complete rooming functions, reviewing allergies, medical records, and medication lists as required Obtain vital signs, perform point-of-care tests, obtain blood specimens via venipuncture, and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) according to established policies Prepare patients for procedures, assemble appropriate supplies and equipment, and assist as directed by clinician

  • Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and eligibility for relevant specialized certifications. (Preferred) National Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or registration by a recognized credentialing body such as: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcare Association National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification. Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems. Previous experience in a medical assistant role within an outpatient setting is preferred. Familiarity with OSHA standards and multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting is advantageous.

Additional Information

Schedule: 10-hour flex shifts 6am – 10pm; Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation Location: 1101 Hempstead Pkwy, Uniondale, NY (This position will also float to MSK Commack when needed) Employees in this role are required to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and must be fit-tested for N95 respirators as part of MSK’s safety protocols. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and BLS/AED certification, with a preference for graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and national certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA). Proficiency in EMR systems and previous experience in an outpatient medical setting are highly desired.
