The Echo Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures to evaluate the structure and function of the heart and vascular system. This role supports patient care across multiple departments, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results that aid in patient treatment planning.
Essential Functions
Performs echocardiograms and ultrasound procedures, following protocols to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging.
Operates ultrasound equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring functionality for optimal use in patient assessments.
Conducts preliminary evaluations and records findings, providing comprehensive data for physician interpretation.
Collaborates with healthcare providers across departments, facilitating the coordination of patient care and the timely delivery of diagnostic results.
Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures, adhering to age-specific care considerations and maintaining a respectful approach.
Documents procedures and findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring compliance with department standards and regulatory requirements.
Assists in scheduling, preparing, and positioning patients for imaging, ensuring proper patient identification and verification of orders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Complies with all policies and standards.
• 0-1 years of experience in echocardiography and/or vascular imaging required
Requires 0-1 years of experience in echocardiography or vascular imaging. Must hold RDCS or RVT certification and BCLS certification.
