InHome Support Specialist Harry Meyering Center is a non-profit focused on supporting developmentally disabled individuals in the community with a person-centered way of thinking. ~ Do you have experience as a Direct Support Professional/PCA or a willingness to learn? ~ Do you want the opportunity to try something different? ~ Wanting to engage with individuals in their homes and in the community? ~ Are you a caring, effective communicator who is also punctual? Then this is the job for you! This posting is for a full-time or part-time position of approximately 15 to 30 hours per week.
$19.00 per hour Job
Communicate with the support team both verbally and in writing Provide assistance and support to individuals served in their homes and in the community go grocery shopping, help with cleaning, go to the movies, take to appointments and more Write outcomes, procedures, and POCs for individuals founded on needs, wants, and dreams. Demonstrate and act as necessary based on knowledge of systems, routines, applicable licensing regulations, and programming. Facilitate access to healthcare services, educate regarding personal health issues, and support/assist with medical recommendations and directives from health care providers. Encourage participation in leisure activities at home and in the community to promote a healthy lifestyle and socially valued goals. Advocate for the benefit of others. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or general education degree. Prior experience or training is not required, but it is preferred to have experience as a CNA, PCA, Caregiver, DSP, or healthcare related professional. Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier. Reliable transportation with willingness to transport individuals Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study Willingness to learn Ability to do household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
