The Nurse Tech provides quality patient care under the supervision of an RN or provider, including performing basic clinical tasks and monitoring patient needs. Responsibilities also include accurate documentation and acting as a safety attendant for patients in the emergency unit.
About the unit The Emergency Unit has 18 beds.
It is a level 3 trauma center with a variety of both adult and pediatric patients.

Scope of work Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.
Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
