Job Description

As a Nurse Assistant at Lurie Children's, you will be at the heart of our pediatric care team, making a difference each day by supporting other nursing staff in compassionate and top quality patient care. #1 For a Reason: At Lurie Children's we understand that caring for kids takes more than medicine. Nurse Assistants: Help to warmly welcome families to the ambulatory clinic area. Assist with taking and documenting vital signs, documentation of medical information, point of care testing, medical procedures, and intra hospital transport, all while ensuring that patients and their families are safe and comfortable. NA also help nursing staff ensure that all medical equipment is stocked and in clean, working condition. That Medical waste is disposed of properly, rooms are neat and tidy and that patient rounds are made in a timely manner. Gen. Med./Pulmonary Unit Information: 48 bed unit with patients ranging in age from birth to young adulthood. Specialization in respiratory illnesses: asthma, RSV, flu, bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis & pneumonia. Also care for a wide variety of patients with general medical needs including medically complex patients with chronic conditions & behavioral issues. Position we are hiring for: Nightshift and every third weekend

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited CNA Program. Current certification as a CNA in the State of Illinois, active/good standing. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. One year experience in an acute care hospital setting is strongly preferred.
