About the role

Provide virtual care to high-risk cancer patients, including ordering genetic testing and developing specific care plans. Manage clinical aspects of abnormal ED results and coordinate lung cancer screenings and rapid diagnostic clinics.

Overview

The OSF OnCall Digital Radiology APP (APN or PA) is a member of a collaborative team who is responsible for providing virtual care to a diverse population of patients across the Ministry through technology in their home environment.

The APN will perform a variety of functions including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention within their scope of practice.

Utilizes evidenced based care and clinical decision support to guide practice.

Performs ongoing communication and works to promote quality of care through collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other care team members, patients and families.

The APN demonstrates service excellence and accountability through recognizing the direct relationship between cost-effective and efficient provision of care and services including the impact of access to care.

JOB SPECIFICS: Main focus will be providing care via virtual clinic for patients high risk for cancer that includes Ordering genetics testing for patients that qualify Counseling genetic results and developing care plans specific to high risk factors/genetic mutations Will be cross-trained into other Digital Radiology functions/programs including being responsible for the clinical aspects of: Management of ED abnormal results, Ordering/following Mammograms and Low Dose CTs for lung cancer screening Seeing patients virtually as a part of our virtual rapid diagnostic clinic for our actionable findings program.

Strong background in reading images, oncology experience as either a nurse or provider, experience with virtual visits.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in nursing or physician assistant
  • Experience: 1 years of clinical experience
  • Licensure/
  • Certification: Must have an Illinois PA License or Illinois APN license upon hire.

  • Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Excellent communication skills, including telephone/video etiquette and customer service. Understanding of the principles of performance improvement, case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and medical records. Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Advanced Practice Provider Working knowledge of Epic EMR System. Experience in Emergency Medicine and/or Oncology background. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in nursing and at least one year of clinical experience. Must hold an Illinois RN and APN license upon hire, with Michigan licenses obtained within six months.
