Entity/Organization: MUHA (Medical University Hospital Authority/Medical Center) Hours per week: 36 Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 3 12-hour day shifts per week, including some weekends & holidays Job Summary/Purpose: Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, The Monitor Technician performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. Minimum Training and Education: Monitor Technician I: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Credentials

• Successful completion of EKG training/competency within 3 attempts in 3 months in position is required to remain in the position.

• Technician II: At least 1 year in a .6 FTE or greater Monitor Technician I position at MUSC or 1 year of Monitor Technician/Telemetry work experience in a health care facility and successful completion of the EKG training/competency during the orientation period in order to remain in the Monitor Technician II position.
