Key Responsibilities
Provide One-on-One Behavioral Support – Build rapport through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement while maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
Encourage Daily Living Skills – Assist with routine activities, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining an organized home environment.
Promote Safety & Emotional Well-Being – Recognize behavioral triggers, utilize de-escalation techniques, and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors while ensuring client safety.
Meaningful Engagement – Encourage conversation, hobbies, community outings (when appropriate), games, walks, and other activities that promote emotional wellness and independence.
Communicate & Document – Accurately document observations, behavioral changes, and completed tasks while communicating concerns promptly with the care team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Previous caregiving experience preferred (behavioral health, dementia care, autism support, mental health, or direct support experience is a plus).
At least 1 year of caregiving or direct support experience preferred.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during challenging situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if transportation is required for the case).
Ability to follow individualized care plans and behavioral support strategies.
