Youth Act Mental Health Professional

Position Summary

The Youth Assertive Community Treatment (Youth ACT) Mental Health Professional provides intensive, community-based behavioral health services to youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and complex behavioral health needs as part of a multidisciplinary team. Using evidence-based, trauma-informed, family-driven, and youth-guided approaches, this role supports youth in their homes, schools, and communities to promote stability and reduce the need for higher levels of care. Youth Act Mental Health Professional Job Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive, community-based behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based clinical interventions for youth and families in accordance with Youth ACT standards and OMH requirements. Deliver individual, family, and group services in home, school, and community settings while promoting youth engagement, family involvement, skill development, and successful community integration. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, shared caseload coordination, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and after-hours on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of care. Collaborate with families, schools, healthcare providers, child-serving systems, and community partners to coordinate services, support transitions, and achieve positive treatment outcomes. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation while adhering to OMH regulations, Medicaid standards, HIPAA requirements, agency policies, and ethical and legal standards. Participate in supervision, required trainings, quality improvement, and fidelity monitoring activities while supporting agency values, maintaining professional boundaries, and performing other duties as assigned. Youth Act Mental Health Professional Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field, with current New York State licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist) or eligible limited permit. Experience providing community-based behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), trauma, co-occurring disorders, and complex behavioral health needs; Youth ACT or similar program experience preferred. Demonstrated expertise in clinical assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and care coordination within multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of OMH regulations, Medicaid documentation, evidence-based behavioral health practices, and commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, family-driven, and youth-guided care. Current CANS-NY certification (or ability to obtain), completion of required OMH Youth ACT trainings, and proficiency with electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and Microsoft Office 365. Valid New York State driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the community and respond safely in home, school, and crisis settings.

Salary: $72,000 Annually

Requirements
