About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Current and valid Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification as required by the state of Kansas.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of patient care and safety procedures.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a long-term care or rehabilitation facility.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Additional training or coursework in geriatric care or dementia care.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report any abnormalities to nursing staff.
• Provide mobility assistance, including helping residents move safely around the facility and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by following infection control protocols and facility guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and personalized care.

• Strong interpersonal skills enable the CNA to build trusting relationships with residents and collaborate efficiently with healthcare team members.
• Preferred skills like familiarity with EHR systems enhance the accuracy and timeliness of documentation and reporting.
• CPR and First Aid certifications prepare the CNA to respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring resident safety.
• Overall, these skills combine to support a compassionate, organized, and responsive approach to resident care in a rehabilitation setting.
