The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support for the allergy department and general ENT operations. Key duties include preparing patients, assisting physicians with procedures, and managing scheduling and patient records.
Jacksonville Sinus & Nasal Institute, located in the heart of downtown Jacksonville with breathtaking views of the river and city, is seeking a motivated Certified Medical Assistant to join our small but mighty team. This versatile position supports both our allergy department and general clinical operations, working closely with the allergy nurse, physicians, and Medical Assistants to help ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. Our highly rated specialty practice provides comprehensive sinus, nasal, and allergy care, as well as complex orbital and skull base surgery. The ideal candidate will be energetic, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable balancing clinical and administrative responsibilities. Prior Medical Assistant experience in an ENT setting is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow with our practice. Medical Assistant Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing patients for examinations and treatments, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, and accurately documenting information in the medical record
Assisting physicians with examinations and procedures, administering medications or treatments under appropriate supervision, and collecting laboratory specimens
Providing direct clinical and administrative support to our allergy nurse, including allergy testing and treatment workflows, medical clearances, and patient coordination
Serving as a Float Medical Assistant by providing coverage and support where needed
Answering scheduling calls, coordinating appointments, maintaining patient records, and completing other administrative duties
Operating and maintaining medical equipment and ensuring examination and procedure rooms remain clean, stocked, and properly sterilized
Following all HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and organizational policies and procedures
