The Technologist assists physicians during all invasive cardiology procedures and provides comprehensive patient care. They are also responsible for providing didactic and clerical training to employees and CVT students.
JOB LOCATION – Wilkes-Barre General Hospital JOB SHIFT – Per Diem POSITION PURPOSE The Technologist (RCIS) assists the physician during all invasive cardiology procedures.
Provide patient care to all invasive cardiology patients, including acquisition and reduction of all pertinent information related to their procedure.
Provide didactic and clerical training to employee and CVT students.
Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: adolescent (13 to 17 years), adult (18-64 years, and geriatric (over 64 years)..
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or registry eligible (by an authorized accredited Cardiovascular Association) RCIS to be obtained within 2 years of hire.
Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes Usually includes one (1) to two (2) years experience, continuing education desirable.
Numerical ability, program presentation and training, communication skills, typing and dictation, mechanically inclined, Public Relations aptitude, teach/explain/instruct, clerical accuracy.
Licenses/Certificates BCLS Certification, must be completed prior to end of orientation period.
ACLS Certification.
Candidates must be a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or registry eligible, with BCLS and ACLS certifications. One to two years of experience is typically required.
