Position Summary

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse reports clinically to the physician and administratively to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting physicians with procedures, and assisting with front office duties, as needed. Essential Position Responsibilities Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system Prepare patient for various procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician Assist patient by providing direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician Serve as patient liaison and advocate, as needed Schedule surgeries and various diagnostic tests and provide scheduled date to the patient Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR, required.

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience working as a LPN on an interdisciplinary team, preferred.

  • Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an unencumbered LPN license and CPR certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an LPN on an interdisciplinary team is preferred.
