In accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures, performs computerized axial tomography procedures on adult patients under the guidance of a radiologist.
Technical knowledge of various diagnostic imaging procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in the utilization of all aspects of the department’s radiology information system. Accurately interprets and follows physician’s scanning instructions and prescription. Uses independent judgment and necessary skills in order to obtain high quality CT images. Educates patient on the entire process that the patient will undergo for CT procedure.
Requires completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program with ARRT certification and at least 2 years of CT experience. Mandatory ARRT CT certification within one year of hire and current BLS certification are required.
