• Purpose: The Surgical Clerk/Scheduler is an ancillary nursing team member who functions under the direct guidance of the Charge Nurse and Director/ Manager of Surgical Services. The Clerk/ Scheduler will perform tasks related to the optimal functioning of the nursing staff and patients.

• Will Do: Computer data entry activities including daily, monthly and yearly stats concerning all aspects of surgical procedures Ordering and checking in of all office supplies in the Surgical Services Department Building of the daily Surgical Services employee call schedule Scheduling of all surgical procedures to be done in Surgery Department and assist as needed with scheduling in Endoscopy and Outpatient Procedure Room Open and active communication with Surgery Manager for coordination of block time scheduling for Surgeons and interaction with Inventory Coordinator for needed special equipment. The Clerk/ Scheduler works directly with other hospital departments, ordering equipment, tests and needed maintenance along with coordinating patient needs. They also work directly with other hospitals and doctor offices obtaining accurate patient information to be entered into the computer to build a daily Surgical Schedule.

Minimum Qualifications
