About the role

Provide daily direction to laboratory staff and serve as a resource for procedures, equipment, and education. Coordinate laboratory workflow to ensure quality results are reported within clinically useful time frames.

Work Schedule

100% FTE, day/evening/night shift.

Monday through

Friday 4:00AM – 12:30PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay

  • This position may be eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Additional components of compensation may include:
  • Evening and night shift differential
  • Weekend differential
  • On-call pay

We are seeking a Senior Histology Technician – Surgical Pathology to

Provide daily direction to laboratory staff with regard to laboratory policies and procedures and serve as the dedicated resource for procedures, equipment and education.

Serve as a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, expert medical interpretation of specimens and innovation in laboratory technology

Develop and maintain teaching / training materials.

Coordinate work-flow throughout the laboratory to ensure quality results are reported in a clinically useful time frame.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include: Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science Preferred
  • Work Experience
  • 2 years histology or relevant laboratory experience Required
  • 3 years histology or relevant laboratory experience Preferred
  • Licenses & Certifications
  • Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred

Requirements

Requires an Associate's degree in laboratory science or equivalent education and at least 2 years of histology experience. A Bachelor's degree and ASCP certification are preferred.
