The Inpatient Rehabilitation Services Technician works under the direction of the Inpatient Rehab Clinical Coordinator with oversight by the Rehab Manager. The position will provide support to clinical staff in a broad array of patient care activities and support clinical activities of therapists as requested.
Schedule: Variable schedule, days, 8 hour shifts, 2-3 days per week, occasional weekends
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required, and 1 to 2 years of work experience in a health care setting preferred. Patient Care Support: Assists in set up of rehab area for joint class and with rehab staff as needed for isolation patients. When appropriate, ambulates patients to and from the rehab gym for joint class. This may include independent patient care for transfers, ambulation, and assisting with toileting. Performs Rehab screen on patients for OT & PT disciplines as appropriate, and reports screening scores to therapist(s). Works with therapy staff to ensure a quality, patient-centered experience. Assists PT & OT staff in direct patient care - including but not limited to transfers, ambulation, stair climbing, dressing and toileting. May also include assisting with patient monitors and equipment. Completes other duties as assigned. Administrative Duties: Ensures acute rehab environment is compliant with EOC standards. Disposes of outdated products, replaces with current and dated products. Maintains all logs as expected and records findings on a daily basis. Maintains tracking records as needed for rehab department, examples include rank in scores, PT & OT treatment list updates. Maintenance of Therapy Areas: Maintains office and rehab gym in a clean, orderly, and safe manner according to established policies and procedures and according to the specific tasks for the day. Maintains an ongoing and adequate supply of inventory items, and other supplies as needed inpatient care areas. Changes linen after each patient use. Wipes down all equipment, tables/chairs and surfaces used by patients in rehab gym to meet infection control guidelines. Maintains equipment such as the assistive devices and other equipment according to the established schedule as required. Monitors for maintenance issues and notifies Bio-Med, Building Engineering, and/or Manager as appropriate. Holland Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer, please see our EEO policy
