Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Job Schedule: Provides a wide range of family-focused health care services to patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

This position diagnoses and treats acute, episodic, or chronic illness, both independently as well as in conjunction with a healthcare team.

Duties/Responsibilities Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.

Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, or herbal remedies.

Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and radiographs (x-rays).

Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.

Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.

Diagnose or treat chronic health care problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Diagnose or treat complex, unstable, comorbid, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.

Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise.

Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.

Provide patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease or disability.

Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.

Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.

Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patient characteristics such as age and gender.

Advocate for accessible health care that minimizes environmental health risks.

Support the organization as needed Performs other duties as requested Participates in departmental or organizational meetings and trainings Demonstrates ability to use equipment relevant to the position Required Skills/Abilities Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.

This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.

Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

Effective professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Ability to self-start, work independently, and work as part of a team Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.

High adaptability and flexibility.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect and dignity of patients.

Demonstrate passion for and commitment to FHC's mission and its importance to the community.

Culturally competent and exhibit cultural sensitivity.

License, Registration, and/or Certification Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.

Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate states (if NP).

Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances.

Current certification in CPR or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire date.

Requires a Master's or Doctorate for Nurse Practitioners or a Bachelor's/Master's for Physician Assistants from an accredited program. Must hold current state licensure, a DEA permit, and CPR certification.
