Overview 5 Sutherland is a general medical/surgical unit that cares for patients with renal and liver disease, and those requiring inpatient rehabilitation.
Patient diagnoses can include acute kidney and liver injury to end stage disease, including dialysis and transplant.
Rehabilitation patients often have a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other injury/disease requiring inpatient rehab.
Patients range in age from neonates to young adult.
5 Sutherland also cares for patients with tracheostomies and other general medical/surgical patients.

Intermediate Care Registered Nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, family-centered and age appropriate nursing care for patients requiring high acuity management.
Intermediate Care nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs.
Intermediate Care Nurses coordinate patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

Associate's Degree ADN Required. The pay range for this job begins at $31.50/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home. Requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) and a valid RN license for Missouri, Kansas, or a Multistate/Compact license. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and specific Life Support Certifications are required upon hire.
