Position Overview This is a part-time (2 days per week position with eligibility for benefits, built for a skilled nurse who wants flexibility without sacrificing impact. As our Oncology Infusion RN, you will provide safe, quality care to patients at every stage of their disease process, from diagnosis to end of life. You will work within a correctional facility clinic, meeting patients where they are and helping them navigate their diagnosis with as much autonomy and dignity as possible, using the full range of disease, symptom, and psychosocial management techniques in your clinical toolkit. Essential Functions Coordinates and performs direct patient care, collaborating with other care providers and correctional health team members. Collaborates with physician/provider to assess and treat symptoms related to disease, treatment, disease progression, and acute illnesses. Responds to and follows urgent and emergent escalation protocols, ensuring timely intervention and provider notification. Performs telephone triage utilizing critical assessment skills to assess and evaluate patient concerns and needs. Starts peripheral IVs; manages central venous access devices including accessing and de-accessing implanted ports. Administers chemotherapy and other drugs according to Traversal Health standards after training and competency validation. Administers and documents administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy and targeted therapy according to Traversal Health practice standards. Some remote work may be performed with a reliable internet connection, as determined by operational needs. Follows all policies, procedures, and standards related to use of drug cabinet including drug verification, drug administration, documentation, and billing. Monitors laboratory results and notifies provider of findings requiring follow-up or clinical management. Manages prescription/refill extension requests per Traversal Health policy, procedures, and standards. Coordinates provision of supportive care with appropriate staff (i.e., blood product transfusions). Conducts patient education and documents patient readiness to learn and understanding of teaching and/or information provided during the informed consent process. Screens patients routinely for needs and/or distress; provides appropriate counseling, interventions, and referrals to appropriate community and support services. Uses an empathetic and caring approach with patients at all times, including in the unique context of a correctional facility. Documents patient information, services performed, and charges in the EMR. Completes required drug inventory counts, supply requests, waste documentation, audits, and billing entries. Informs Director of Nursing of clinic needs and concerns relating to the work environment. Trains and orients future hires as requested. Adheres to all Traversal Health practice standards, Policies and Procedures, and applicable correctional facility guidelines. Serves as a liaison and collaborative partner between oncology providers and the Department of Corrections, facilitating communication and coordination to ensure seamless patient care delivery. Assists in the development of clinical workflows, standing operating procedures, and ongoing clinic enhancement initiatives. Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth; embraces opportunities for leadership within a growing organization. QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of nursing principles and practices. Knowledge of oncology practices, treatments, and current developments in cancer diagnosis and therapy. Serves as an oncology resource to colleagues and allied health personnel. Ability to administer chemotherapy and other treatment therapies. Ability to empathize with patients and navigate grief and challenging patient interactions. Ability to collaborate with the health care team to create a personalized treatment plan for each cancer patient. Ability to cope with death and dying. Comfort working within a correctional facility environment and interacting with incarcerated individuals in a professional, non-judgmental manner. Education & Experience Current Missouri or compact state RN license. Minimum one year of RN experience. May be waived with Director of Nursing approval. Current ONS Adult Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card required within 30 days of hire to be covered by Traversa! Health. Current approved BLS provider card. Oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred. Oncology certification strongly recommended within 2 years of hire. Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory infusion setting preferred. Physical Requirements Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to remain upright on feet for the majority of the workday. Must be able to remain in a stationary position less than 1/3 of the time. Ability to communicate, distinguish sounds, and visualize. Regular manual dexterity required.

Requirements

Requires a current Missouri or compact state RN license, BLS certification, and at least one year of RN experience. Must obtain an ONS Adult Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card within 30 days of hire.
