The Oncology RN coordinates patient care by triaging phone calls, managing treatment side effects, and coordinating medication refills. They are responsible for assessing patient data, developing collaborative care plans, and delivering professional nursing care based on the Theory of Human Caring.
A Brief Overview The Oncology RN is responsible for coordinating patient care.
Assesses information that is given to them from the patient via phone or in person, communicating information to providers and obtains orders if needed.
Provides triaging to patients with symptom management and provides recommendations from the provider.
Triages patient phone calls to assist with management of side effects from treatment and determine if patient needs to be seen within the clinic more urgently.
Assists with medication refills and coordination of care.
Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse - KSBN Required Basic Life Support - BLS RQI or other certifications may be required in lieu of or in addition to BLS depending on department. Must have within 90 days of hire.
