Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department Radiography Radiographer II: Level II is intended for candidates with at least 1 year of radiographic experience, current ARRT certification, and advanced clinical competency.

Radiographers at this level are expected to acquire and maintain super user status across all radiographic equipment (fixed and mobile), fluoroscopy units, and perioperative imaging systems such as the O-Arm and 3D C-Arm.

They also demonstrate proficiency in all imaging software platforms and provide training to peers as needed.

In addition, Level II technologists are knowledgeable in pediatric subspecialties, including mobile imaging techniques and Non-Accidental Trauma (NAT) studies.

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs general radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.

Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a general radiologic technologist.

Rad Tech I: Level I is intended for candidates right out of school or with less than 1 years of experience, or individuals still working on developing expert-level competency.

Level I pay ranges between $27.67 - $40.12

Essential Functions

Performs high quality general radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging studies by selecting specific software parameters that will produce a quality image for use by radiologists in their determination of a diagnosis. Acquire and maintain super user status for Fluoroscopy units. A thorough clinical understanding of intricacies of fluoroscopy necessities. Successful implementation of knowledge encompassing a diverse set of practical skills to ensure safe and effective application of specialized medical imaging techniques within Fluoroscopy. Provide cross coverage support when staffing needs arise. Acquire and maintain super user status for specialized perioperative service imaging needs. This includes, but is not limited to, the O Arm and 3D C Arm. Ability to access PEX editor on fixed units (Siemens) to amend protocols as needed. Acquire and maintain knowledge of all pediatric subspecialties including all essential mobile imaging standards along with Non-Accidental Trauma studies. (50%) Effectively interacts with Denver Health’s PACS system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities. Uses Epic to input patient examination data and to place patient orders, when appropriate. (15%) Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines to include use of 2 patient identifiers. Transports patients to and from the Department of Radiology, as needed, to prevent patient flow delays. (15%) Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized when performing general radiographic examinations. (5%) Attends and participates in departmental huddles, general intradepartmental meetings, and Radiology’s inservices. (5%) Provide comprehensive training on all nuanced functionalities and operational intricacies of the advanced perioperative imaging systems to fellow Radiography Technologists. Acquire and maintain super user status for all radiographic imaging equipment including fixed and mobile units. Provide comprehensive training on all nuanced functionalities and operational intricacies of the imaging systems present for use by Radiography Technologists. (5%) Contacts service personnel and notifies supervisory staff of equipment malfunctions. Maintains a clean and orderly working environment through wiping down examination tables, changing linens, stocking supplies, and washing/disinfecting general radiographic equipment. (5%)

Education

Associate's Degree Must have successfully completed an accredited ARRT program in Radiologic Technolgies. Required

Work Experience: 1-3 years of professional work experience in performing general radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures Required

Licenses

BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required and RTR-RT Radiography - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate general radiographic equipment and related technology. Demonstrated competency in the performance of general radiographic imaging studies. Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients and effective interpersonal skill sets that lead to productive communications and collaborations. Competency in interpreting physician order requests for general radiographic imaging studies. Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances. Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures. Ability to handle patient specimens and laboratory equipment. Ability to maintain the expected level of competency. Knowledge of safety and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment of care. Microsoft Office Suite experience required. Electronic Health Management experience preferred. Shift Work Type Regular Salary $30.03 - $43.54 / hr

Requirements

Requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited ARRT program and 1-3 years of professional experience in radiographic procedures. Must hold current ARRT certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
