Follows physician orders and administers regularly scheduled oral, topical, suppository, nasal and ocular medications to residents who are clinically stable. Consults with the Nurse to assess a resident who requests a "prn" (as needed) medication. Reports to Nurse observations regarding changes in resident's status. Observes the five rights of medication administration. Ensures that Resident's medications are re-ordered in a timely fashion and are available for scheduled and prn administration. Adheres to duties and responsibilities as LNA. Completes any duties as assigned. Serve meals, feed those patients who require it and assist patients in the dining room. Provide fluids and nourishment for the residents. Answer resident's call for assistance promptly. Report to the supervising nurse immediately if the resident complains, has a change in condition, or whenever other special needs arise. Assume all other duties as assigned by Charge Nurse. Assume responsibility for self-safety and safety of immediate work environment. Responsible for attendance at annual in-service programs with regards to body mechanics, right-to-know laws and fire and safety procedures.
Medication Nurse Assistant (MNA) licensed by the State of New Hampshire. Experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
