Provide direct clinical care to patients in an ambulatory specialty clinic setting. Handle administrative tasks including patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling.
STATUS: Full Time – 40 hours per week
Day shift. However, position may require evening and weekend hours. Hours may be variable to meet office/patient needs. Location will be variable and some travel required. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands.
Responsible for the direct care of patients presenting themselves in an office, ambulatory setting. Involved in predominately clinical services and Cooperates with all members of the health team to meet total patient needs. Schedules and registers patients in computer system; answers telephone promptly and courteously; obtains and verifies patient and guarantor demographic information; obtains and verifies patient's insurance information including referrals and prior authorizations when necessary; Provides clerical, secretarial and receptionist support for the specialty clinics and other diverse duties as requested.
2. Licensure/Certification
1. Certification as Medical Assistant, or equivalent, required within 3 months of hire. 2. Current BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
