The Medical Laboratory Scientist III (Point of Care Testing), to perform and oversee POCT tests (waived and non-waived) across multiple clinical departments, maintain and troubleshoot POCT instruments, manage quality control, coordinates proficiency testing, and train and assess competencies of non-laboratory personnel.
Document and review POCT results and collaborates with nursing and medical staff to optimize POCT workflow.
Participates in the development, evaluation and implementation of laboratory procedures, methods and ensures compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission and hospital policies and procedures.
VFT / Days .
Bachelor’s degree required. Successful completion of an approved clinical laboratory training internship. Two (2) years experience required. Based on area of assignment department specific competencies may be required. Maintains current Florida license as a Medical Technologist certified in the specialty or specialties required by the laboratory section(s) assigned. National Certification such as American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), or American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.
Requires a Bachelor's degree, completion of an approved clinical laboratory internship, and at least two years of experience. Must hold a current Florida Medical Technologist license, with national certification (ASCP, AAB, or AMT) preferred.
