Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, L.L.C. (MDL)is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing that specializes in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses with viral, microbial, or environmental etiology.
MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious diseases.
Our Research and Development department at MDL is comprised of experts in the fields of Molecular Biology, Molecular Virology, Microbiology, Molecular Oncology and Gynecology.
Our main theme of research is in the field of Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
MDL is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Quality Control team in our corporate office in Hamilton, NJ.
Job Summary: To perform accessioning checks, and analyze/verify clinical laboratory results.
Essential Functions: Performs accessioning checks for all of the requisitions sent to the clinical laboratory.
Assess the accuracy of specimen information entered into the LIS and identify any accessioning discrepancies.
Maintains accurate record of discrepancies, and gives discrepancy reports to the appropriate department for corrective action.
Analyzes, enters and verifies clinical laboratory results including but not limited to: Real-time PCR, conventional PCR, Western blots, ELISA, IFA, and antibiotic resistance testing.
Identifies samples that require repeat or additional testing to ensure accurate results.
Communicates with lab personnel about any testing issues or pending results.
Additional Responsibilities: Assures patient privacy is maintained at all times.
Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision & focus.

Job Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Microbiology or related Science field.
Basic computer literacy.
LIS experience preferred.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Previous quality control experience preferred but not required.
Familiarity with the PCR method, Molecular Biology, Bacteriology or Virology is also a plus.
