Provide comprehensive pre-operative and PACU nursing care for pediatric patients in an ambulatory surgical center. Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure safe patient recovery and provide home-care education to families.
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the pre-operative Coordinate all aspects of nursing care with pre-operative team to achieve defined patient outcomes Works closely with the surgeons and the anesthesia care providers to guide the child safely through the postoperative period Provide nursing care patients in post op, continuously monitoring and assessing patients during their stay Assisting patients recovering from anesthesia Assessing the patient's health status and previous medical history Provide appropriate education to the patient’s family regarding their individualized plan of care for at home recovery
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing At least one year of experience as an RN preferred Previous experience working in a pediatric or ambulatory surgery setting a plus Ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of start date Current Pennsylvania RN License
