Responsibilities

The Emergency Services Technician plays a vital role as part of the healthcare team, assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), Registered Nurse (R.N.), and Unit Secretary. This position is essential to the team-based approach to patient care and supports the efficient and effective flow of patients through the Emergency Department. Patient Care Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse. Communication Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff. Environmental Duties Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies. Education & Competency Maintains an active, working knowledge of the Credentialing Competencies required for Emergency Services Technicians. Professional Behavior Consistently demonstrates professionalism in both appearance and conduct.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Previous patient care experience in an
  • Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred
  • Skills: Basic medical terminology. Computer familiarity. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Licensure
  • Oregon: Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required. CNA, MA or EMT desired.

Washington

  • Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required. Registered or Certified Nursing Assistant (RNA/CNA) required for employees who perform this job in the state of Washington (including those who float into the role). Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist required for employees who perform phlebotomy in the State of Washington (including those who float into the role). Pay Range USD $22.10 - USD $30.94 /Hr. Requirements

Requires completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent military/EMT training and a current BLS certification. MA certification from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA is required within one year of hire.
