The Registered Nurse will be responsible for starting and maintaining IVs for various radiology procedures, monitoring patient vitals, and charting progress and response to treatment and medication. This role also involves collaborating with the healthcare team, conducting cancer research, and providing essential supportive resources and education to patients and their families.

Location: New Hyde Park
4/10 Hour Shifts; Monday - Thursday (Between 7-6)
Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)
Start and Maintain IV’s for Radiology procedures including but not limited to CT scans and PET/CT scans.
Monitor and chart vital signs, weight and height
Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
Conduct cancer research to enhance treatment protocols assigned to cancer patients.
Provide supportive resources for the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
Complete MAR after treatment.
Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.
Valid New York State RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
