The Acute Care APP will collaborate with the intensivist to provide advanced, evidence-based clinical care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU, focusing on in-house management of critical and non-critical patients. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 42
Work Shift: 7 on / 7 off, 12-hour shift (7p-7a)
The Acute Care APP will work in collaboration with the intensivist and other healthcare professionals while providing advanced, evidence-based clinical care to the critically ill adult patients in the ICU unit.
Major areas of responsibilities include in-house management of the critical and non-critical patients in the Intensive Care Unit, participation in multidisciplinary rounds and quality initiatives. Required to work rotating 12 hour - 7 on / 7 off shifts which include weekends and/or holidays as indicated with fixed nights or days.
Must possess good physical health.
Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Candidates must have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing or be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, along with current Louisiana licensure for Acute Care APRN or Physician Assistant. A minimum of 1-2 years of critical care or emergency medicine experience is preferred, though new graduates with relevant ICU RN experience may be considered, and Acute Care Certification is required.
