About the role

The Physician Assistant will support the Radiation Oncology department by conducting patient consultations, managing side effects in the infusion area, and performing routine follow-up visits. They are responsible for coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining accurate patient records.

We are seeking a reliable, dedicated, experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team.

A PA with clinical experience is required, oncology experience is preferred.

This position will support our Radiation Oncology department.

Essential functions & requirements

Gather data for new patient consultations and prepare new patient notes for physician.

Evaluate patients in the infusion area and assess for side effects and symptom management.

See patients for routine follow-up visits in clinic.

Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team to formulate care plans and make recommendations for changes as needed to address for health problems and follow-up care.

Triage physician phone calls assisting with prescription refills and communication of results including lab, pathology, etc.

Participates and collaborates with interdisciplinary team functions including patient care, meetings and tumor board.

Prepares and maintains accurate and timely patient records, charts and documents to support sound medical practice and reimbursement for services provided.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Excellent computer skills.

Maintain a positive and caring atmosphere for patients, families, and co-workers.

1-3 years of experience in clinical setting required, oncology experience preferred.

Knowledge about cancer treatment regimens preferred.

Education & certification

Valid physician assistant license and current registration to practice in state of California.

Degree from an accredited physician assistant program

Clearance of certification exam as a physician assistant

License and current registration to practice in state of California.

Certifications like OCN, AOCN and AOCNS are highly desirable.

Requirements

Candidates must have a valid California PA license, a degree from an accredited PA program, and 1-3 years of clinical experience. Oncology experience and certifications such as OCN, AOCN, or AOCNS are highly preferred.
