BluePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team.
$22.15 - $44.00 / hour. *Sign on Bonus up to a $2500 Sign-on bonus for qualified candidates*
Advance your technical skills with on-the-job training. Specialty experience is not required. One year of technician experience is preferred. Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. Utilize your ability to place IV catheters and urinary catheters. Performs physical exam. Understands normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal. Set up IV fluids and constant rate infusions. Set up and oversee blood transfusions for critically ill patients. Assist our highly qualified team, including board-certified surgeons, in performing a wide range of highly advanced surgical care. Some examples include scrubbing into surgeries such as TPLO, FHO, total hip, fracture repairs, splenectomy, lung lobectomy, GDV, and C-section. Monitor up to and including ASA status I - V. Learn how to independently run CT scans. Place and maintain feeding tubes, drains, PICC line catheters, and central line catheters. Perform local blocks, such as epidural. Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R (basic and advanced) CPR guidelines. ALS and BLS certification is provided at no cost to you. Why BluePearl? Our passion is pets.
