Position Summary

🔬 Pathology Laboratory Assistant – ORMC Lab Anatomical Pathology (Part-Time) 🏥 Department: ORMC Lab – Anatomical Pathology ⏰ Schedule: Part-Time | Saturday & Sunday Coverage Required 📍 Location: Orlando Health Regional Medical Center (ORMC) Are you interested in supporting critical pathology and laboratory operations? Join Orlando Health as a Pathology Laboratory Assistant and play an important role in assisting pathologists, managing specimens, and ensuring efficient laboratory workflow that supports quality patient care. 🔎 What You'll Do ✅ Prepare the autopsy room and assist pathologists and residents during procedures ✅ Receive and accession pathology specimens using hospital and laboratory information systems ✅ Organize, inventory, file, and dispose of pathology specimens ✅ Load tissue specimens onto tissue processors and maintain laboratory equipment ✅ Retrieve tissue specimens, slides, and blocks for additional testing and review ✅ Assist with frozen section processing to support timely diagnoses ✅ Prepare cytology specimens and coordinate specimen send-outs when needed ✅ Maintain accurate records and documentation ✅ Support laboratory quality improvement initiatives ✅ Practice infection prevention and safety standards while maintaining a clean work environment 🎯 Qualifications ✔ High School Diploma or GED required ✔ Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills ✔ Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment ✔ Commitment to quality, safety, and confidentiality ✔ Healthcare or laboratory experience preferred but not required 💙 Why Orlando Health? ✨ Part-Time Weekend Schedule ✨ Work alongside experienced pathology and laboratory professionals ✨ Gain valuable healthcare and laboratory experience ✨ Support a team dedicated to excellence in patient care ✨ Collaborative and inclusive work environment ✨ Opportunities for growth within Orlando Health 📢 Looking for a rewarding weekend opportunity in healthcare?
