Changing Lives. ® The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a Clinical Technician to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assists with patient admission, transfer and discharge Completes baseline admission data on patient arrival Observes patient for changes in physical condition Demonstrates competency in the performance of technical skills, providing appropriate care with regard to patient's condition and age Maintains a safe environment for patients and follows standard precautions Complies with unit, departmental, and hospital policies/standards Participates in unit based Quality Management programs Implements emergency care procedure in actual and practice situations Documents information obtained during tests/procedures Works as a team member and supports cohesiveness of unit personnel Performs special duties as identified in unit or divisional policy under direction of the charge nurse Preserves patient privacy and confidentiality Contributes to the learning experience of students/new staff Supports and contributes to the education of patients and families Follows appropriate organizational channels Participates in unit and division staff meetings and inservices Demonstrates responsibility in the care and utilization of complex equipment Performs other projects and tasks as assigned Incorporates the principles of Service Leadership to ensure positive patient/customer relations Percent of Time: 100%25 - 40 hours per week Schedule: Evening and Night shifts, hours will be between 3:00 pm - 7:30 am, every other weekend, every other holiday Location: UI Health Care Rotations: Weekend and Holiday Rotation Merit Pay Plan: https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/merit-pay-plan Benefits Highlights: Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa Fringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plans For more information about Why Iowa?,clickhere
