Position Summary

Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN). Provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes. Status PRN/Casual Shift Days/Mids FTE / Hours 0 / As Needed Schedule 12 Hour Shifts, varies between Days/Mids (7a - 7p or 11a - 11p) availability

Position Requirements Education

Associates degree required. Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Bachelors preferred.

Licensure

Registered Nursing licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state required.

Certification

Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or completed by end of orientation.

Preferred

  • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN), Critical Care Nursing (CCRN), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and/or
  • Emergency
  • Nursing
  • Pediatric
  • Course (ENPC)
  • Experience: 1+ years of higher acuity RN Experience required.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to rapidly assess patients and prioritize treatment based on severity of condition and provide life-saving interventions when needed Critical thinking skills used to make quick decisions and adapt treatment plans based on changing patient conditions Effective communication and collaboration with patients and their family, team members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care Capability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care Perform technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety Detailed oriented

Essential Job Functions Formulate clinical decisions and implement multi-dimensional plans of care that demonstrate independent judgment and critical thinking consistent with private, state, and federal regulations.

Documentation reflects accurate assessment/evaluation, modification, and patient's response to therapy, changes in condition, and therapeutic interventions/procedures.

Promote and enhance collaborative practice within the health care team to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.

Demonstrate continued professional growth by participating in opportunities to assure continued adherence to professional standards and provision of quality patient care.

Identifies ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age /weight of the patients served.

Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.

Attend team meetings, yearly competencies, and any other meetings deemed mandatory Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.

Physical requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Must be able to pass background check.

We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing.

Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
