Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Provides such direct services as counseling, psychotherapy, education, crisis intervention, case management services, etc. 2. Documents all service-related activities, including time spent per activity per client, mileage accrued, charting, staff notes, etc. 3. Participates in supervision and/or professional development activities. 4. Participates in Quality Improvement or SCS-wide activities. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, or Human Services. Must be enrolled in an accredited Master’s program in Social Work, Psychology, or Clinal Mental Health Counselor. EXPERIENCE Three to six months of volunteer work or structured, experiential learning (e.g., practicum or learning lab) in field of behavioral health or developmental disabilities. Good interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of mental health, chemical dependency or developmental disability issues. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS Position has no unusual physical demands. Position may occasionally require walking or standing, stooping or bending. May involve occasional exposure to threat of bodily harm (e.g., from clients or their families). Normal work tasks involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue, but employment may require performing tasks on an unplanned or occasional basis that involve exposure to those substances. May require driver's license. Within the bounds of their respective job descriptions, all staff are expected to exercise principle-centered leadership, focused on customer service responsiveness, with a continuous quality improvement orientation. Additionally, all staff are expected to develop a working knowledge of and follow all policies and procedures related to safety management and other Joint Commission standards. Time Type: Part time

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field and current enrollment in an accredited Master's program. Candidates must have three to six months of experiential learning or volunteer work in behavioral health or developmental disabilities.
