  • DayPurpose: Responsible for providing individual, group and family therapy for both mental health and substance abuse treatment, the therapist participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning by developing an annual comprehensive psychosocial assessment and crisis intervention consultation. Provides individual and family counseling, makes referrals to external services, makes referrals for internal psychiatric services, and assists clients in identifying resources to meet their needs.
  • PART I: ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION AND DUTIES WWFHC promotes the growth and development of the behavioral health therapist position. This position is categorized in different levels from beginner to advanced development of behavioral health therapist in co-occurring treatment of mental health and substance abuse. As the therapist is assigned to a Level in providing services, he/she is also to assume the previous Levels duties and responsibilities. Level 1 – provides brief screeners, assists patients in completing consents to different treatment programs, assists patients in completing questionnaires, and provides brief care management services. Level 2 – conducts integrated biopsychosocial and psychiatric protocol, provides individual and family therapy, and participates in integrated huddles with care team. Level 3 – provides group therapy – psycho educational and clinical groups, in addition to curriculum development. Level 4 – facilitates telepsych services at the clinic and in patient’s homes, in addition communicating and coordinating with Wayne State Physicians Group in managing patient’s psychiatric care. Level 5 – teaching and consultation, providing in- house training and supervision in specific topics and areas of interests for behavioral health, substance abuse, and medical. In addition, to providing clinical consultation and supervision for state licensure.
  • Overall, specific functions and duties include but are not limited to: Provides individual, group and family therapy. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning. Develops an annual comprehensive psychosocial assessment. Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team. Participates in the peer-review process for the therapist Provides pre-screening for depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders. Conducts individual and family counseling sessions with clients. Diagnose for psychological disorders. Conducts psycho-social assessment Provides case management Assists clients as they apply for health insurance Contacts social service agencies on behalf of clients to obtain services Makes referrals to other agencies and psychiatrist as appropriate. Manages patient appointments Schedule patients with psychiatrist and preps patient chart for visit Prepares documentation for patient files Completes electronic charting in EMR. Attends integrated meetings Completes superbills, electronic billing. Completes patient charts. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • QualificationsPART II: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE Any fully licensed mental health professional, (i.e., LMSW, LPC) to provide mental health and/or behavioral health services in the State of Michigan with a minimum of two years experience. Limited Licensed Mental Health Professional who are in the process of obtaining full licensure within 6 – 12 months. *Documentation is needed upon interview.

Knowledge of computer, systems, and applications. Skilled in planning, organizing and supervising patient care. Skilled in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision making. Skilled in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the general public Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs Skilled with working in a complex work environment Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and maintain organizationally appropriate relationships Knowledge of organization policies and procedures.

At this time, all employees are required to have both the primary series of COVID19 vaccines as well as any booster shots the person is eligible to receive. Exemptions may be made to this policy and are determined on a case-by-case basis if there are medical contraindications for vaccine or recognized religious beliefs prohibiting vaccinations. If received other vaccines, they may not qualify for exemptions. Exemptions must be requested and approved before first day of work. New employees who have not yet had the vaccine must be full vaccinated, or schedule to be vaccinated as soon as possible based on CDC guidelines. Weekly testing will be required if exemption is approved.

Requirements

Requires a 4-year degree and full licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., LMSW, LPC) in Michigan with at least two years of experience. Limited licensed professionals may be considered if full licensure is obtainable within 6-12 months.
