Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Qualifications and Responsibilities

Current Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license Current CPR certification Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance Minimum of 6 months of pediatric home health experience as an LVN required Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes during 8–12-hour shifts, allowing them to remain safely with their families instead of an inpatient facility Care for children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery Assess patient conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs, seizure activity, and providing care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to the individualized plan of care Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure quality patient outcomes Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
