The CMA assists primary care providers by collecting vitals, performing diagnostic tests, and managing patient rooming. They are also responsible for administering vaccinations and coordinating provider orders such as referrals and prescriptions.

Excelsior Family Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our primary care team.
The selected candidate will assist our primary care providers in collecting vitals and performing point-of-care tests.
We are looking for a proactive individual who can anticipate the needs of the providers by thinking critically and holistically about each patient.
The candidate must be able to operate in a team-based setting and excel in teamwork.
To Qualify: High School diploma or equivalent; college education in the healthcare field preferred.
Must meet the requirements as defined in WAC 246-827-0200.
Active licensure as a certified Medical Assistant Certified through the Washington State Department of Health or the ability to obtain licensure upon the date of hire; if license is pending, may hire with no more than 90 days’ grace period.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital.
Lifespan experience is preferred.
Ability to effectively work with and communicate with interdisciplinary teams, including behavioral health specialists, therapists, and other health care providers.
Excellent organizational skills, communication skills; ability to process and analyze information effectively.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make ethical and safe decisions.
Ability to manage individual stress and perform essential job functions safely and professionally.
Minimum 21 years of age.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Core Responsibilities Include: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities.
Greets patients and interviews them as to the history and purpose of office visits as appropriate.
Takes vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, and other metrics as appropriate).
Accurately documents all data on designated forms and electronic records.
Rooms patients in appropriate examination rooms for office visits or for procedures with the provider; ensuring rooms are set up for applicable visits or procedures.
Conducts electrocardiograms, vision tests, and CLIA-waived diagnostic tests as directed by providers.
Assists physician with procedures as directed, ensuring adherence to RCW 18.360.050.
After office visits, carries out all provider orders by assisting with the preparation of referrals, prescriptions, and orders for laboratory tests and imaging.
Discharges patients from the examination room and directs them to the checkout desk, ensuring adherence to RCW 18.360.050.
Performs vaccinations and other intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections as directed by providers, with medications being administered only by unit or single dosage, or by a dosage calculated and verified by a provider.
Provides appropriate information statements to patients for vaccinations, ensuring adherence to RCW 18.360.050.
