About the role

Responsible for preparing patients, assisting physicians with procedures and minor surgeries, and performing diagnostic tests. Acts as a liaison between the physician, patients, and outside medical agencies to maintain efficient patient flow.

High school education required for MA; certified or registered Medical Assistant from and accredited institution preferred (RMA).

Description

This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as, with the patient. Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow.

Requirements

Requires a high school education, with a preference for certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Preferred experience includes at least 2 years in a clinical medical office setting with skills in Lab, EKG, and X-ray.
