LOCATION: STROGER HOSPITAL - INPATIENT SERVICES JOB TITLE: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN DEPARTMENT: PHARMACY PAY RANGE: $25.833 - $31.806 - HOURLY SHIFT: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (ROTATING) Salary is commensurate with years of experience indicated at time of application submittal.

JOB SUMMARY RWDSU LOCAL 200 Under supervision, provides pharmaceutical care to all areas of Pharmacy Services including Inpatient and Outpatient services.
TYPICAL DUTIES Gathers and delivers medications to/from patient care units Fills and prepares Pyxis for patient specific medication needs Prepares intravenous admixtures, including chemotherapeutic agents Prepares stock requisitions and places stock in proper storage locations Returns medications to stock Rotates and inspects medications for expiration dates Receives medications from the storeroom or outside delivery Fills orders for par-stock replenishment, as needed Prepares extemporaneous solutions and/or ointments, as needed Prepares medications for unit-dose distributions Answers and screens telephone calls for pharmacist, as needed Troubleshoots problems related to Pyxis stations Performs documentations, as instructed Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED equivalent, is required. (Must provide Official Transcripts at time of Interview). Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Illinois, is required. (Must provide proof at time of Interview). One (1) year of full-time work experience in a hospital as a Pharmacy Technician, is required. Must hold active certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) program or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), is required. (Must provide proof at the time of Interview). Must demonstrate the ability to type at a corrected rate of 15 words per minute, is required. (A typing test will be administered; candidate must achieve a minimum of 15 WPM with at least 85%25 accuracy).
Requires a high school diploma, Illinois pharmacy technician licensure, and active PTCB or ExCPT certification. Candidates must have one year of full-time hospital pharmacy experience and a typing speed of at least 15 WPM.
