Position Summary

Responsible for assessing physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient within assigned unit area and planning nursing care to meet those needs. Responsible to see that nursing care plans are carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Adheres to standards of nursing practice of McLaren Flint, which consists of systematic approach to nursing practice by using nursing process. Assesses and documents patient’s status on admission and continuously thereafter including procedural areas Develops written plan of care, including long and short range goals and nursing actions.

Inpatient Units

• Required: · Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan. · BLS · ACLS
• Certification within 6 months of hire or transfer for units specified: 2 Central, 4 Central, CCU, ICU, PCU, ER, and 12 South Additional Qualifications of

• Required: · Minimum of two years of experience required in a cardiac critical care unit, step down unit such as 12T, 9T, 4C, PACU, etc OR in a cardiac cath lab OR in an emergency department. ·
• ACLS within 6 months of hire or transfer
• Preferred: Previous experience in pulling arterial lines or venous sheaths

• RN (to include: PACU, CVCU; to exclude: 11S, Joint and Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Cath Lab, OR). · Minimum of 6 months proven telemetry monitoring/interpretation experience within the last year and/or successful completion of McLaren Flint’s Telemetry Monitoring/Interpretation test within the last year
