Essential Functions Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires a High School Diploma, completion of a state-approved CNA training course, and a valid Michigan Driver's License. Must hold current CNA certification from the Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs and BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
