DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: 20 bed unit designed to provide pre-procedural care and post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for the diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiological and Neuro outpatients.
Inpatients also arrive and depart from the Care Unit for their pre- and post-procedural care.
One of the 20 rooms is utilized for TEE procedures.
Nurse/patient ratio 4:1, and staffing coverage reflects the standards and practice recommendations of the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses (ASPAN).
Busy, energetic unit which requires staff to work as a team to manage the fast-paced workflow.
A supportive, individualized and thorough orientation is provided with a knowledgeable, experienced staff member.
Critical care and excellent IV insertion skills preferred but not required.
SCHEDULE: Per Diem Hours are Monday through Friday, 6AM-6PM or 9AM-9PM.
It is closed on all hospital approved holidays.

Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
Minimum 1 year RN experience required.

Requires a valid Massachusetts RN license, AHA CPR certification, and at least one year of RN experience. An ADN is required, while a BSN is preferred.
